Now, let's talk about Amethyst!

Amethyst is a variety of quartz available in various shades of purples. It is known as the All Healer, and is truly an excellent addition to any crystal collection!

Physically, amethyst is believed to boost the immune system and balance the metabolism. Because of its calming energy, it helps lessen cortisol production and reduce stress in the body. Amethyst is beneficial for those battling addiction and aids in positive decision making. For those that suffer from insomnia, amethyst promotes restful sleep and helps to combat nightmares.

Emotionally, amethyst is a very calming stone and helps lessen anxiety and stress. It can be helpful to manage overwhelming emotions and overcome grief and sadness. Amethyst helps us to realize our full potential and embrace changes in life without fearing the unknown. If you struggle with indecision, amethyst helps to boost inner wisdom and confidence in making the right choice for yourself.

Amethyst is an excellent stone to use in mediation, associated with the crown and third-eye chakras. It has also long been used for protection, countering negative energy and protecting against emotional manipulation.

Some excellent crystals to pair with your amethyst include:

  • Rose Quartz - to heal relationship difficulties and restore harmony
  • Citrine - to encourage successful business relationships
  • Tigers Eye - for decision making or problem solving without heavy emotional influence
  • Smoky Quartz - to counter nightmares and insomnia
